Both have been enjoyable to play. I'd much rather Ffxiv over eso. Eso appears to be. I don't know. It didn't really grab my attention however ffxiv does have a lot of energy, according to the Op. Esos combat is kind of disgusting. Imagine if Skyrim was a game with a 3 second server delay on every attack. That's called eso.

The combat in action is fast-paced and fun, active taunts/blocks/dodges feel good--but since skills don't have a cooldown the game becomes a spam-fest. Some classes just make use of the same skill 13 times.

The company doesn't value your time as a participant the way FFXIV does. It will take you just as long to spend time managing your money account and inventory if you don't have a premium subscription (same cost as the FFXIV). Each new dungeon must be bought (unless you're a premium member) and there's the added bonus that they offer annual expansions with limited information... Like I'm talking about a brand new raid and a new zone worth of story for $30.

TBF Final Fantasy is sub only. Everything is fine when you purchase the ESO sub. It's not the best expansions, but they're also at a fraction of the cost of FF expansions and come out more frequently, so when you double the size of them for the same amount, it's quite competitive.

FFXIV also comes with an extensively acclaimed expansion that is called Shadowbringers which is listed as one of the most memorable Final Fantasy stories of the over the last 15 years or so. This is the highest praise I've heard for an ESO story.

Do it ! I'm just finishing the base and I loved each and every moment of it. I'm not feeling the need to rush because Ilevel sync makes it very difficult to finish old content. The the fact that there's other alternatives to murdering hoboing it up, like chocobo racing, is fantastic. My buddies who have fought Dungeons with me will not give up after wiping, and are willing to help if it is needed.
