La description

Most players will notice the underwater league first, but Patch 3.29 has a bigger job to do. It is changing the small frustrations that used to slow down every new build. You can grab better gear without panicking over socket colours, test skills with less setup, and spend your POE currency on actual upgrades instead of fixing basic compatibility problems. That does not make PoE simple. It just means the game is putting more weight on choices that feel worth making.

What players should watch during the first week.

Lantern dives reward smart routes, not just raw movement speed.
Voyages may make good Charts valuable because placement changes their payoff.
Allflame crafting looks strongest on items that are already partly finished.
Socket colours now offer quality bonuses rather than blocking gem setups.

The socket change may be the part people feel every single day. Any gem can go into any socket now, while coloured sockets give matching gems extra quality. That is a much healthier trade-off. You can equip the chest you just found, keep mapping, then worry about perfect colours later. It also makes build testing less of a chore. Plenty of players have ditched an idea before even trying it properly because recolouring a six-link felt like a gamble. That barrier is gone, though endgame colour optimisation will still matter.

The other big shift is how old content is being given clearer reasons to exist. Abyss is becoming the proper home for Abyssal Jewels and Stygian Vises, while Legion gets Enshrouding transformations that could give overlooked uniques a second shot. Mercenaries are also more than a random map distraction now. Warrants, Atlas support, and the Luminary Ascendancy could turn them into a real farming path or even a core part of a character plan. The catch is obvious: permanent companions need to survive, and their gear can't be so strong that every other option feels pointless.

League starters should still be picked with a bit of caution. A fast build sounds great for escaping a fading Lantern bubble, but it also needs enough control to clear monsters near the edge of the safe zone. Self-cast spells have new tools, especially for physical, lightning, and channelled setups, yet mana costs and standing still remain real problems. Early prices for Dead Man's Sulphur, Warrants, and POE orbs for sale will help shape which plans are practical, especially for players trying to craft rather than trade their way past every setback. Patch 3.29 looks promising because it gives players more room to experiment, while still making good planning count.

At u4gm, PoE 1 players can keep 3.29 prep simple while the big changes settle in. Whether you're mapping Allflame dives, testing self-cast spells, or tuning new socket bonuses, browse Path of Exile currency at https://www.u4gm.com/path-of-exile/currency for a smoother start. No fuss, just more time for builds, loot, and the next good drop.
