After the 40s I would say hill giants for additional prayer and flesh crawlers as previously mentioned. Things will remain the same until the 50s in which time moss giants might be an alternative to hill giants. When you're in the sixties you may want to consider strongholds of security spiders.

I'd recommend using Tubby's set-up with the mystic boot and Ring of Life until you're sure, and then begin to risk a little more expensive gear. If there is no one in Burstinglobs looking for a solo mage, just ask if anyone is hybridding/tribridding and can let you hop worlds from theirs, easier than having to kill Supreme/Prime to start your trip.
