There are two types of cooking: cooking fish/meat and cooking bread/pies/stews/pizzas/cakes. Because raw fish/meats tend to be sold at a greater price than cooked, it is not financially efficient to cook them. The reason for this is because some people want the cooking experience above the money so they will spend more money for raw fish. Cooking fish/meat is not profitable.

On the other hand cooking bread/pies/pizzas/stews/cakes is very profitable. They are very profitable because you literally don't need to spend a dime to prepare them. A bowl (4 coins), potato (freely picked in a field) and meat (free) is all you require to cook a stew. You paid 4 coins to buy a bowl of stew that is now worth 163 dollars. You have just earned 159 dollars. It's not a huge lot but the money accumulates quickly.

Runecrafting is simply just making runes from pure essence. Because members can make all the costly high-level runes, it is profitable. Non-members have limited access to the six runes that are basic (Earth/Air, Water/Fire, Body and Mind) that are nearly useless.

Some people would argue and suggest going to Demonic Ruins but I think that it is bad to go there because: It's very far in the wilderness. It is very far from the closest bank.

My opinion is that the best weapon available in Runescape for non-members is the Rune Scimitar. A Rune 2-h is the best weapon for non-members however it's extremely slow. The scimitar is able to hit 2 enemies in the same amount of time as the 2-h, even though its accuracy may be greater than the scimitar.
