After moving to Lake Stevens in the fall of 2019, Velazquez did not have a lot of time at school before doors were shuttered from the spring. Velazquez stated he made friends in the movie game club that he has not yet met in person. Nonetheless, the students hype up each other throughout every contest.
Velazquez said he has been enjoying with the Madden franchise since athletes like Vince Young and Brett Favre graced the match cover at the late aughts. Well beyond half of his lifetime.
He said his older brother -- more than five years his senior hasn't beaten him on the electronic gridiron since 2014. "He'll normally get angry, but it is all good," Velazquez said. A football fanatic, Velazquez said he has dreams of being a commentator or trainer later on. He admits the video game is not quite like the real thing, but he believes it helps with his understanding of the game.
In coming months, Velazquez expects to match up with the Madden champion in the collegiate level, as well as the winner of this high school competition contested over the Playstation. "I want to get better, I am not satisfied," he said. "It might be a learning experience when I lose, but if I win that's even better."
